Camogie Result, April 24
Patrickswell NS 1-3
Monaleen NS 3-0
Despite suffering a narrow loss to a much fancied Monaleen side, there were many positives for the Well in this exciting game. The Well were worth their 0-1 to 0-0 lead at half time; indeed the home side were unlucky not to have had more of a lead going into the break. The concession of a goal early in the second half unsettled the girls, however, and within 5 minutes they were trailing by 0-1 to 3-0. To their great credit, the girls never gave up and slowly but surely they dragged themselves back into the match with a point by Leah Carroll and goal by Amy Fitzgerald. The next score was another point for the Well--and that left only a single score between the teams. The Well camped on the Monaleen line for the final three minutes but, with the Monaleen backroom team pleading for the final whistle, there was to be no justice for the 'Well who were desperately unlucky not to score an equalising goal. The girls' never-say-die attitude, typified by Rachel Aherne, a player of great spirit and determination, was the real winner on the day!

Olo Cup Result for April 23rd
Patrickswell NS 4-9
Model School 0-2
Patrickswell continued their march towards the semi-finals of this year's Olo Cup championship with a well deserved victory over a good Model School team who played with spirit from start to finish. There were seven different scorers for the 'Well. Many present at the match thought that the fine catch and strike to the back of the net by Darren O Flaherty was the pick of the scores on a fine day for hurling. Next up for the 'Well is the top-of-the-table clash with Scoil Chriost Ri (Caherdavin). This game will be played next week.
