Friendship Week in Patrickswell N.S.

This month we celebrated our first ever Friendship Week in the school. The idea of having a Friendship Week in the school the week after the Spring mid-term break was agreed last term during Positive Behaviour Week.  The coordinator for the week was Mrs Woulfe.

The following are some of the messages that were posted around the school during the week:

Friendship with strong roots really lasts

Kind deeds are circular; they go all the way round until they come back to you--and they don't stop there...

A friend is one of the nicest things to have -- and one of the nicest things to be

It's in giving that we receive

Smile--it costs nothing but it's worth an awful lot!

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to Patrickswell N.S. past pupils, Shane and Alannah (both are currently pupils at Coláiste Chiaráin) who are on Work Experience with us this week and next week.

Congratulations Everybody!

We had great news last week when we received a letter from An Taisce to confirm that Patrickswell N.S. has been successful in its application for a FOURTH Green Flag!  Flag No.1 was awarded for litter control. Flag No. 2 was awarded for energy conservation. Flag No. 3 was awarded for water conservation. Flag No. 4 is awarded for measures taken by schools to reduce the number of car-trips to and from the school by those who learn and/or work in the school--and initiatives to educate all in the community about proper use of roads and pathways, road safety, cycling safety and pedestrian safety.  Well done to Mr. Nestor and his very hard-working committee of pupils and parents who led the project! Thanks also to our mentor, Ellen. The flag will be presented to the school at a special ceremony in Thomond Park before the Summer Holidays.
