Past pupil plays in Croke Park on All Ireland Final Day
Kate Feasey was one of the stars of the Patrickswell N.S. camogie team that won the City Championshipbefore the Summer Holidays. Kate turned in a string of top class performances for her school - and for the City Neville Cup team - last year. As a result, she was selected to play in the INTO Mini Sevens camogie match that took place in front of a crowd of 82,000 people in Croke Park, at half time in the All Ireland hurling final between Galway and Waterford. It was a never-to-be-forgotten day for Kate and her family ... and a very proud day for Patrickswell N.S. and Patrickswell GAA Club.

'Meitheal' to Paint the School
Meitheal
The Irish word ‘Meitheal’ means ‘a collective effort for the greater good of the community’. It describes the old Irish tradition of people coming together to respond to local needs.
Míle buíochas / sincere thanks to all who helped out with the recent painting of the schoolyard and those who started painting the front of the school today (see photos)...
Check in here for details of the next voluntary painting day at the school - hopefully, you'll be able to come along for an hour or two...
Here's what's left to do (see photos). We also need to paint plinths, barges, windowsills and the metal bars around the gates...

“Plassey” Primary Schools Athletics Finals
2017
We are sending a team of 24 boys and 24
girls to the Primary Schools Athletics Finals in Plassey at the University of
Limerick on Wednesday, May 17th.
The pupils who have been selected to go to
Plassey will leave the school at 8.45 a.m. on Wednesday morning. (Please bring €5
to pay for the bus. No pocket money, please). We expect the bus to return to school before
3.00 pm
Pupils will spend most of the day outdoors. Please check the weather forecast to help
decide what pupils should wear/bring—coats, hats, sun-block, something waterproof
to sit on, etc. Pupils are advised
to wear their school tracksuits on Wednesday.
Pupils are also asked to bring a Patrickswell GAA jersey, if they own
one. Pupils who don't own one of these
jerseys may borrow one from the school for the day.
Pupils will also need to bring a sensible
lunch. It is recommended that pupils bring something inexpensive to play with
(e.g. a deck of cards, books, puzzles etc.) as there will be long periods
of inactivity during the day.

Wins for the Olo Cup team & the camogie team!
Well done to the Patrickswell N.S. Under 13 hurlers who followed up their vicrory over reigning Olo Cup champions, Milford N.S. with a win against Monaleen N.S. The boys AND girls from the 'Well put in a huge effort from start to finish and their fantastic team performance was rewarded with a victory that guarantees them a semi final spot in the 2017 Olo Cup competition (where they will most likely meet Mungret N.S.or Kildimo N.S.)
Today's match was played in Patrickswell. The final score was:
Patrickswell N.S. 6-01
The school Under 13 Camogie team also tasted victory today when they defeated Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh from Castletroy . It was sweet revenge for defeat in last November's Girls Footbal league final in the Gaelic Grounds where the Castletroy girls got the better of our girls.
The final score was:
Patrickswell N.S. 1-01 to 0-00

Under 11 Hurlers in Great Form v Caherdavin
All the training with the club & the school is paying off!
Our Under 11 hurling team is getting better and better with each outing. This week, they drew with Scoil Chríost Rí from Caherdavin. The score was 2-3 to 2-3.
Most of these lads will be on the Olo Cup team next year, so - just like the Patrickswell senior hurlers and the Limerick senior hurlers - it is very important for everybody to attend every training session and to make use of the Hurling Wall in Patrickswell GAA Grounds. And, of course, it is just as important for everybody to practise the skills at of hurling at home - but not in the house!
